Netherlands (Amsterdam, Lisse, Groningen) - Apr '05

Lisse...

Keukenhof, well known for its spring bulbs display. Of course, that is the biggest and most colourful field bulbs that I ever seen so far.

You can simply find all kinds of tulips there (from white colour till black). Don't miss it, if you were there in around April. Find out more about keukenhof

Bulb Field

Should visit this bulb field, if happened that you were there in Keukenhof. It is located besides of Keukenhof and it's free by the way.

These are the newer version of windmill, which structured with large blades on the outside. When it turns by the wind force, it provides the power for getting water out of the ground, crushing grain or even electric power energy. Currently, UK authority is planning to build more windmill to generate electicity rather than rely mainly on fossil fuel, which increases global warming. However, building windmill on natural land may be another issue on destroying our natural landscape.

Holland is continually increasing in size by reclaiming
land. They built dyke around a marshy area and drained off the deep lakes with the help of windmills. Yet, Holland, where part of the lands are lower than sea level, still rely on windmill to get rid of axcess water from the city to avoid flood. Find out more about water management in Holland.

Amsterdam...

So sorry, can't give you a lift, due to space constraint. One of the popular buggy in Netherlands.

Isn't it cool? Another pollution free taxi, which operated by dynamo. I saw it in Spain too, but not in the UK. However, UK has got tricycle which can be found in Melaka.

Bicycle is very popular in Netherlands. So, getting a parking space for your bike, can be a big problem in the city center. Don't be surprised when seeing someone cycling with their nice suit or skirt on, while heading to work early in the morning.

Persoanally, I will vote for Netherlands, a country concerns so much about recycling and pollution. Moreover, plastic bags are not given for free
everywhere in Netherlands to avoid misuse, even you do your marketing there.

I was impressed by the bottle recycling machine found
in a hypermarket, where consumers trade their used bottles by inserting bottles one at a time into the machine and obtain a receipt that can be used to offset their next purchases in the hypermarket.

As I know, other than Netherlands, charging of plastic bag has been imposed in many other developed countries like, Germany, Korea, etc. But, it's ashamed that not in the UK.

Groningen...

London, UK

桃花, I was so excited, when I first seeing genuine 桃花 tree in my life. When I was young, I used to help my mum to decorate home with fake 桃花 almost every year during CNY. Remembered, I first learnt of 桃花 from the series of 金庸先生所著的 《射雕英雄传》, which is one of my favourite movies even it has been engraved on my memory for such a long time. I might have forgotten the movie that I watch lately, but not 射雕英雄传. ~ Mar '05

Leicester Square - China Town ~ Dec '04

Terrace neighbourhood (London - Mar '05)

This is the typical terrace houses in London town. They are very cosy, though their age can be easily over hundred years.

农历新年在伦敦 (London - Feb '05)

This is my first Chinese New Year celebration with 靖然 in abroad. However, we still find atmosphere in Malaysia is the best.

Piccadilly Circus ~ Feb '05

Cosy home (Birmingham, UK - Nov '04)

This is the cosy home where we stayed initally in the UK. Really miss our friends there Jess and Brian, who is the owner of the house.

Hong Kong - June '04

The city with the highest density that I have been so far. Human built mountains can be found almost every corner in the city. Condo there simply as tall as 50 storeys.

Gorgeous scenery at 天星码头. Supposingly, there was laser lighting going on, but was unable to capture in the picture.

Hong Kong Delicacies...

These are typical 串烧 in Hong Kong. I enjoyed eating it while I was window shopping. However, do not hesitate while ordering and pay immediate after food is hand over to avoid scolding. Perhaps, that's part of the stressful lives in Hong Kong.

Brilliant; that's the most delicious 云吞面 that I ever had so far. So, let's grade "THE BEST" for 香港云吞面, though it looked so plain in the picture. Serious, I won't fool your taste buds.

Oh yeah, should blamed on the bird flu outbreak, otherwise, I would have tried the well known 香港烧鹅 too.

买东西; 吃东西; 买东西; 吃东西.......
That's the life and what you should expect while travel in Hong Kong.

What a coincidence that my uncle was there for business trip. So, we thought to have a glimpse of him before he returned to Taiwan. He showed us around few attraction places and treated us in a famous restaurant, 庸记, though he was quite busy. Indeed, we always feel guilty to have him and shenshen treated us all the times.

Australia (Sydney & Melbourne) - Nov '03

Sydney...

HARBOUR BRIDGE where you can climb to experience the spectacular view of sdyney scenery, but got to prepare for at least A$160 per head. To me, it's too steep. So, I would rather spend it elsewhere.

Melbourne...

You see..you see, how exciting my dad, mum and 靖然 were. They asked me to stopover to hunt for their treasure, while we were heading to Twelve Apostles via Great Ocean Road. It was their lovely shell. Of course, it's not gold....I'm afraid.

My camera broke down before reaching Twelve Apostles, where should be the nicest scenery along the way. Otherwise, I would have snapped some pictures and uploaded here.

South Korea - Dec '02

Presidential Blue House, where is the residence of Korean president.

LOTTE WORLD, one of the largest amusements park in South Korea. So far, free-fall there is the only ride that petrified me, though I did not ride. Before the trip, I told KL that I would try, but I gave up after hearing the scary scream....from the riders. Can't deny that I am getting older loh....

TOTORO, which is one of our favourite animated characters.

Here is the thickest and purely white snow that we ever steped on. We were so excited when seeing such piece of thick snow accumulated all over the ground. Remembered, I said to 靖然 that "Don't care! Must stepped on it, though we were freezing".

EVERLAND - An indoor and outdoor theme park with Wild Safari World.
